Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Honeywell RTH221B1039 Programmable Thermostat by Anthony Gupta

Revainrating 3 out of 5

No swivel adjustment

So-so for Jane's easy T status. However, I could not find any mention of the "Swing" function (which has been in every thermostat since Moses). "Swing" is the number of degrees between turning the heating/cooling on and off. With a fluctuation of 1 degree, a cooler set at 75 degrees will turn on at 75.5 degrees and off at 74.5 degrees. The larger the swing, the less energy is consumed and the lower the humidity and wear and tear on the air conditioner. I called tech support. Not impressed. Long queue. The lady I spoke to tried to act like a product connoisseur, but I could tell she was just reading information from a computer screen mimicking an instruction manual. She had no idea what a "swing" was. She held me for a very long time to find out what I was talking about. After waiting forever she finally comes back to tell me that this T-Stat doesn't have that feature. For the first time in 40 years I'm seeing stats without this feature. To me, this is important to reduce energy use and humidity in an abandoned home near the Texas Gulf Coast. Return of Honeywell t-stat. I seem to get a lot more bang for my buck with the Suuwer 715, which is also for sale at Revain.
