Review on Portable Normatec Go Dynamic Compression Device For Calf Muscles By Hyperice by Daniel Mettler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Working well so far

I've been using these Normatec Go compression devices for about a week now and am happy. The concept is simple in that the cuffs fill and deflate over a set period of time to help increase circulation in the calves. They work similar to a blood pressure cuff, but cover a wider area. Each section of the Normatec Go inflates in a different order, so the entire thing never applies compression to the entire calf at once. This seems to work well. My calves feel relaxed after each session. The Normatec Go is easy to use. You can use just one if only one leg is bothering you or you can use both at once. They are wirelessly connected to one another though, so once you turn on the devices, they connect to one another. This is nice and makes it so the timing is the same for both. The controls are simple to set and settings can be changed on the fly. I found that I couldn't tolerate the highest setting and was easily able to adjust it on the go. If you need to turn them off while in use, that's easy too.My only complaint so far is that the cuffs are a little difficult to put on and take off. The Velcro is quite "sticky," which is good, but I also worry that the material will degrade over time. That hasn't happened yet, but I will update the review if that happens. I was reading a bit about Normatec and learned that it was started by someone who wanted to help her family member with lymphedema. One of the best treatments for lymphedema is massage. This product is not marketed as a medical device though. I could see where this device would be helpful for people with lymphedema, so I think it would be worth talking to your doctor to see if this device could help.
