Review on ๐Ÿ”ง VOTEX - USA-Made - DP004 Stainless Steel Engine Oil Drain Plug with Neodymium Magnet (1/2 X 20 X 25 MM) by Patrick Carlson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They measure the way I wanted them to and they don't leak on my Moroso sump

I bought these to use in place of the copper washers on my Moroso sump because pure aluminum is said to be a bit softer than pure copper, and you want the washers to be soft so they smudge a little and make an impression when you tighten the connector. Hopefully you won't have any drips from the cork. I did two test fits with a couple of these washers before actually putting one in just to make sure I could get a good lubrication pattern on both sides of the washer without having to unscrew the plug. These pucks performed well. I also wanted the washers not to be too loosely attached to the OD of the connector threads. They fit well and close. Their inside diameter is about 0.508 inches and they are 2mm thick as shown in their chart here on Revain. The end result of my Moroso pan is no drips. I used a Votex connector. a Moroso cork and a copper disc too, but this cork was terribly solid. I didn't want to do it again, not in this aluminum pan. "Softness" is relative. disc seats, or the surface there isn't very parallel to the flange on the plug, you probably need something softer, like rubber. For example, my Jeep is 1994, it also has a 1/2-20 thread. I use a rubber plug with a gasket on this rig.
