I already had a larger 'commercial' quality Amtifo wireless camera system in my RV and I really like it. I decided to try it on my SUV. The build quality of the product was excellent. Included accessories and wiring harnesses make installation easy. This 2007 Ford Expedition has the license plate in the tailgate, so powering the unit was a bit more difficult than some other cars. I removed the inner tailgate cover and connected the power wires to the license plate light as in my case they are always on when the car is running. I routed the wires through one of the bottom unused license plate holes and sealed it with tape to keep water out. Should be fine as it's also behind the license plate. This completely covered the wiring. I placed the horizontal mounting bracket that holds the camera behind the plate, which made the installation very discreet. I see a lot of people putting a clip in front of the plate, which doesn't look that pretty. The display is quite clear and has a very wide field of view. Because it's wireless, there's no need to run cables throughout the car. So far the reception is flawless and clear. I wrapped a camera antenna cable behind a license plate. I was a little worried it might affect wireless transmission, but so far it's working great. If I had to come up with one "complaint" it would be the monitor mount. The quality of the assembly was excellent, but I had trouble finding a place where I would like to mount it. Several additional options/positions would be available if there was a different on-screen link for articulation or left/right rotation. It rotates left/right, up/down, but not left/right if that makes sense. At some points I might have wanted the screen to sit diagonally without that extra point of articulation. If the display could simply rotate clockwise/counterclockwise, that would solve my problem. It's not really a problem, the last place on my console as shown in the photo worked great but can certainly bother others as well. 4 DAY UPDATE: I noticed a few things that I wanted to report. The LEDs on the camera are visible white, not infrared. I wanted the camera to be on all the time, but at night the LEDs are pretty bright. Seems they only want to use this camera as a backup camera, so the white LEDs help with the backup lights. The 5-inch display, while quite sharp and good-looking, is actually too bright for night driving, even with the brightness turned down. to the lowest setting. Again, this isn't a problem if you're just using it as a reversing camera, but in my case I wanted it to be on all the time, so I have to turn the monitor off at night or toggle to just use it for reversing.
