Cubes were easy to make. Just pour water into the mold and put it in the freezer. The orbs needed some practice. First off, the balls are just under 2 inches (1 7/8 inches) in diameter, except for a thin rib surrounding each ball. The silicone mold comes in two parts and although they fit together it took practice to get the shapes. so that they go well together. Even if you put the molds together, water may leak out if the molds come loose during filling. In this case, you will be completely flooded with water. The molds will separate if you pour too much water quickly, trapping air in the mold. The "Gift" funnel fits into the water hole but will not deflate unless you pour the water very, very slowly. If you add water too fast, air will get stuck in the mold and if you add more water, the molds will separate. If air gets into the mold and you put it in the freezer, as the water freezes around, the mold will separate to avoid trapping air in the mold you can either pour the water in very slowly or slightly lift the funnel as you pour the water so I can go outside. You must be patient because none of the methods are quick. Removing ice from molds (cubes or balls) is easy by rinsing the mold with water. Your patience will be rewarded with nice big ice cubes and balls! I really like them and use them for all my drinks instead of the ice cubes my freezer normally makes.
