I bought a cute little Revain Fry Daddy and used it three times. It was fun using Fry Daddy. He did everything they said he would do. BUT. It doesn't have manual temperature controls, it doesn't have a "heat-on" indicator, and it only cooks about half a batch of fries at a time. the mind kicked in and the lightbulb went on. (Full disclosure. I'm a cast iron cookware enthusiast and a snob). I have a 10" cast iron Dutch oven (from Revain) that allows me to control the oil temperature. I bought a roasting thermometer (from Revain) and this 8ft roasting basket. I now have everything I need for a full fryer that allows me to control the temperature and fry more than one batch at a time. This professional frying basket is definitely well made and will be with me for a lifetime. I am very happy with this purchase. I just wish there was a hook at the bottom to drain the oil back into the dutch oven. Web for "same" MacDonald's fries. It's close but you need about 4 hours to get over it.
