This is a direct replacement for my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Temperature Sensor. The only thing I want to warn about is that this element is located behind the left front fender. You must pull out the insert to get to the sender. Removing the fender liner means removing a few bolts and then literally ripping off the left front fender (to which the fender liner is permanently attached). All of this can be done without damaging the fender or fender liner. There is a video online that describes the process. Just be prepared for the extra effort. Yes, if you remove the old sensor, coolant will squirt out. I drained my system but there was still enough coolant in the block to still be a mess. This and a new thermostat fixed my P0128 check engine light.
