With the nRF24L01+PA+LNA boards nothing worked for me due to the lack of shielding. This 2300m model certainly solves that problem and overall IMO is the only board worth considering for nRF24 projects. However, as another reviewer noted, there are resistors on the SPI lines (CE, CSN, MO, MI, SCK) under the shield that are causing problems. If you are using the Arduino nRF24 library, you may need to change nRF24.cpp on line 45 of DIV2 from DIV4 to slow down the SPI clock. Otherwise you have to remove the shield and bridge the resistors. However, once you understand this, you will have good long-distance performance. Using an Arduino Nano and the nRF24 library with maximum antenna power, 250 kbps setup and auto handshake enabled, I have a great connection between my two devices. At this stage I'm using MakerFocus power supplies with Dupont jumpers. In the end, shielding is actually the key to stable operation. Don't waste time on +PA+LNA boards unless you know how to shield them. Just buy it.
