Review on 🔧 Enhance Precision and Convenience with DEWALT DW7231 Miter Saw Mounting Brackets - Large Size by Antoine Cash

I read a lot of reviews before buying them and they all talked about installing them on Dewalt miter saws. I was watching a YouTube video of a guy moving them around on his Dewalt miter saw to use on the large crown moldings. I figured I could do the same with my newly purchased cobalt miter saw. Got them yesterday, went to Lowe and bought a drill and tap combo (tap) 8mm with a 1.25 tap. I marked a spot on the edge of the saw to make sure it wouldn't interfere with the work under the saw. I drilled a small pilot hole on each side and then drilled it out with an 8mm drill bit. Then I cut new threads. The finger tight thumbscrews that come with the crown stop mounts worked great in the new threaded studs. The cobalt saw has a slight edge misalignment which prevents the thumbscrew from being fully tightened on the mounts. Another trip back to Lowe's and buying two 8mm 1.25 nuts and some 8mm washers solved the problem. I installed two nuts on each of the thumbscrews along with a washer and this helped me overcome the offset and secure the brackets to the saw. The mounts are well made and very stable, you won't be disappointed.
