Review on Memorex 8.5GB DL DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle, 8X Speed by Guled Probz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good reliable product - very good price

I use a lot of blank DVDs. I have a DVDFab program that will rip ANY DVD movie (including BlueRay which I have NOT tried yet as I don't have a BlueRay burner) and output it to blank DVD or some other output types like iPhone, iPad or Android. When I get to the RedBox machine, I grab a few movies that I might want to watch, copy them all, and return them the next day for about $1 in rent and the cost of the blank DVDs. . You can always find special offers on standard 4.7GB blank DVDs. Many times office stores (Staples in particular) have sold a pack of 50s or 100s for a few bucks just to get you to come to the store. Very close. The prices are the same everywhere. I recently received an email from OfficeMax with a 20% off coupon code and a link to a flyer. Free shipping on all orders over $20. I flipped through the ad and saw that this particular pack of 50 Memorex 8.5GB discs was being sold at a discount. $57.99 regular sale for $46.99. Also, I had a 20% rebate coupon, so $37.59 + $2.64 Florida tax = $40.23. BUT, a quick look at the Revain, I bought it for $30.45. Although I've used several brands of standard 4.7GB DVDs, the only 8.5GB DVD I've ever used was Memorex. I've noticed a few reviews complaining that they don't work (coasters will). I haven't had this problem. Sometimes I get a DVD crash error when a program tries to burn or initialize a blank disc first. This is usually due to the program, burner or slight soiling on the DVD. I just add a new space and continue. BUT I don't transfer the extracted DVD with the error. I unplug it and put it on another spindle and then use it again. I got it 100%. 8.5 GB is significantly more sensitive than the standard.
