Terrible performance, don't buy

After I ran out of all my Memorex 2.4x DVD+R DL discs I went to Revain to buy new discs. I should have heeded the warnings here, but I didn't. I also have a small stack of coasters. When I called Memorex customer service I was met by a representative who didn't speak English well enough to understand everything he was saying, but the gist of the call was that I had screwed up 5 discs from the start. Stack, he wanted me to burn 5 from the middle and 5 from the bottom. Now I have to burn a total…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Not sure

I don't know, maybe I got a low quality batch. I tried all the standard tricks (disk Images, slow burning, etc. has no values) (actually the current hypothesis is that disk heating is a factor and burning in succession as fast as possible actually worked twice, but it's not a panacea) I see a lot of reviews saying that Using Mac /superdrive/Toast as I have with great success - not my story Halfway through the spindle and remembering to just throw the rest in. Only 2 actually finished writing…

Pros
  • New

I've burned hundreds of Memorex DVDs with no problems!

Yes, I have burned many hundreds of Memorex double layer and single layer DVDs of which less than 1% have become coasters. Most of the coasters I made were my own fault. I think Memorex is a good product and the DVD backups I made over 3 years ago still work great. I've struggled with coasters before and finally did my research to find the right programs and DVD drive to make good copies. Here's my setup: CloneDVD (google it, try the trial version - then buy it after you fall in love with it)…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Protection

Good reliable product - very good price

I use a lot of blank DVDs. I have a DVDFab program that will rip ANY DVD movie (including BlueRay which I have NOT tried yet as I don't have a BlueRay burner) and output it to blank DVD or some other output types like iPhone, iPad or Android. When I get to the RedBox machine, I grab a few movies that I might want to watch, copy them all, and return them the next day for about $1 in rent and the cost of the blank DVDs. . You can always find special offers on standard 4.7GB blank DVDs. Many times

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not all suitable

Memorex 50 Pack Dual Layer DVD+R, they work for me!

I've recently started using dual layer DVD burners on my home computer. Depending on the file size, you get up to 10 hours of high-quality video on 1 double-layer DVD+R. It's better than 4 hours DVD-Rs. For my home TV recording system with Panasonic DVD-R hard drive, I only use Sony DVD-R discs. I was very happy with the quality and reliability. Remember that a DVD-R that deteriorates when left unused will become unplayable after 2-5 years. I saw this with the first TDK DVD-Rs recorded over 7…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
