Review on Memorex 8.5GB DL DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle, 8X Speed by Donald Cox

After I ran out of all my Memorex 2.4x DVD+R DL discs I went to Revain to buy new discs. I should have heeded the warnings here, but I didn't. I also have a small stack of coasters. When I called Memorex customer service I was met by a representative who didn't speak English well enough to understand everything he was saying, but the gist of the call was that I had screwed up 5 discs from the start. Stack, he wanted me to burn 5 from the middle and 5 from the bottom. Now I have to burn a total of 4 discs, so why waste 10? He then confirmed as others have posted here that they have 2 manufacturers of discs but they have no way of knowing which manufacturer made them - it seems to me that they should track this to control quality but hey , considering they wanted it I spent 15 discs out of 50 just to see how they work which tells me they don't really care about quality control or customer service. BTW, my personal system has a Lite-On LH-20A1P with the latest firmware. and tried these drives on 2 other systems with the same result. I'm not sure what brand I'll be buying next, but I can assure Memorex that it will NOT be their brand. A final note to Revain, if you have more 1-star ratings than 5-star ratings, you should reconsider your decision to purchase a product.
