This is normal for travel.
This crib was amazing until used 4 times. The first time I used it it was raised high and the fourth time it was flattened. I don't recommend it for 2 or 3 year olds who experience horrible twos or for those who love bed hopping. Overall my daughter loves it but then again she loves anything frozen.
