It should be noted that I have tried at least 2 other brands, both of which have been disappointing as they are extremely durable and the tailgate performance is nowhere near that of the OEM. The gate simply accelerates and hits in the open position, which I believe will eventually damage the structure of the body and the attachment mechanism. - However, this particular product is exactly the same as the OEM parts which failed just a few days ago, the uprights support the tailgate with very good strength and work exactly like the OEM uprights. Would highly recommend, especially at this price. Took about 2 minutes to install as they snapped into place. All that is needed is a small flathead screwdriver to pry the springs out of the bearing blocks. Then they snapped.
