Funny, my friend's mom said the garage charged $800 to fix the roller shutter. When I told her I made it in 10 minutes for $20, she was blown away.

Excellent packaging. Low quality product. My bottom locking clips weren't in the groove. I had to bend them to fit the groove. They're also about an inch shorter than Volvo's.

I wish I had a unitary or adjustable foot as I have changed tailgate pillars twice. They appear to be similar to the original racks and are not very difficult to install. You only need to support the hatch door while replacing it. I used an adjustable ladder. Very good product for the money and always delivered on time or earlier.

They work well - can't comment on durability yet - too new. During installation I decided it was best to remove both old lifts at once - at first I tried changing one at a time but the gate didn't open wide enough for the lift to connect and I had not enough force to compress the new lift even a little to make it the desired length. Make sure you have a good footing to hold the lid open while the old jacks are off.

Fits my Volvo XC90. They're pretty easy to install. There are videos online showing how to install. They make an instant difference in hatch maintenance. The old ones were a bit dangerous as the hatch didn't quite hold up in the cold Minnesota winter. Once installed, the sunroof opens fully and quickly and stays open. The reason for the "4" rating is that the "barrel" of these gas shock absorbers is not as large in diameter as the original. I'm not sure about the durability.

It should be noted that I have tried at least 2 other brands, both of which have been disappointing as they are extremely durable and the tailgate performance is nowhere near that of the OEM. They were pretty easy to install but I think a set of installation instructions should have been included (which is why I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5). Luckily I read other reviews and researched how to install them. Turns out it's pretty easy - use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the metal clips, pop out the old shock and put in the new shock (I used a pole to open the trunk - don't forget that!).
