Just received it today, I plugged it into an outlet very close to the stove. It takes a few minutes to get used to. Later, without lighting it, I turned the rear burner a little and blew gently towards the detector. The numbers started growing and from 3 to 4 he started squeaking. I shut off the gas and turned on the extractor while the detector kept beeping and the count went up to 6. I think it was a late response. It's very noisy, which is a good thing. He turned it off to turn it off. All I can say is if you have a gas range then not getting one is irresponsible.
