Worthy of 5 stars because it fulfills it's purpose well. If you have never flown a drone before I recommend starting with an inexpensive one like the Syma X20 Mini Pocket Drone. While it can be considered a child's toy it's so much more. It's a tough, durable little trainer. It is better to cut your teeth on something that can take a few bumps because you will crash your drone so you might as well learn how not to on something less pricey. Once you have calibrated level properly and learn to use the trim, the drone flies like a dream. You'll have fun experimenting with different maneuvers and learning to control the drone as it fly in all it's planes. Syma did a great job packaging all its features, its calibration tools and its controls. I enjoyed flying so much that in a short amount of time I upgraded to a larger drone and the skills learned on the X20 were easily transferable. I had the confidence to handle the larger drone with with few worries. The X-20 has some automation to it but for the most part, YOU ARE FLYING THE DRONE. Average flight time is only 5 minutes so you will want to plan your "training" sessions well. If you approach learning in a systematic way you will make the most out of each session. There are some negatives. If you bump into something the gyros go crazy and drone may speed up. If you are flying indoors it may crash before you can recover control. I beleive it is best to try your tricky maneuvers outdoors. I must emphasize that is important to calibrate the drone on a level surface otherwise you may become frustrated. Calibration is easy to do and only takes a moment so read the manual. Likewise learn to use the trim controls. I don't recommend doing the one button launches indoors until you've developed some finesse. The launch is fast and the drone goes high quickly. Same goes for the flip feature which is very cool! The package comes with a USB cable to recharge the drone. You will need four AAA batteries for the controller. The kit thoughtfully includes a mini Phillips head screwdriver so you can access the battery compartment. The kit also comes with four additional propellers. I haven't had to replace my originals ones even after a bunch of learning related crashes but it's good to know I've got spares. Overall, it is a well thought out package for an inexpensive starter drone. While I have moved on to a larger drone I still keep the X20 around for indoor fun. For it's completeness, design, ease of learning and durability, even if you can afford a larger drone, I recommend the Syma X-20 as a great starter. Have fun!
