This is such a great mini drone because it is so easy to fly and the direct charging via USB cable makes it very easy and convenient. If you are a beginner, this is arguably the easiest drone to fly because of the altitude hold feature. I swear by the altitude hold feature. The body is a bit more sturdy/less cheap than the JJRC H36 drone and also the JJRC drone is a bit more unstable and was the hardest to fly of all the mini drones that were advertised for beginners. I also have TheeFun mini drone. The TheeFun is a lot more easier and quality better than JJRC H36, but I still found the Syma easier to fly than the TheeFun. Compared to the Syma, the TheeFun mini drone has a tad bigger body, tad bigger propellers, and also a cage to protect your tv and other stuff should your drone fly into itNow the BAD parts of this Syma mini drone. I found that the cutting off the engine/shutting off the propellers to be the SLOWERST of all mini drones. Because the propellers can't immediately/quickly stop, when I crashed the drone, the propellers would continue to spin and scratch up stuff or fly even deeper into a shelf crack even if I have the controller stick held down for several seconds.Furthermore, the rubber feet on my Syma drone came off and I can't find the part so now I have some legs without rubber feet. That doesn't affect the flying but the manufacturing sucks because the rubber feet should have used super glue! Also, the metal USB port is great and terrible.it is very convenient to directly charge the drone, but the USB connector is extremely fragile and after multiple plug ins, it has come loose and I'm sure will eventually break. I love this drone because it is so easy to fly but I also hate it because it's falling apart.UPDATE:Customer service from RC Drone went out their way to resolve my issues to the best of their ability. Thus, I changed my original review of 3 stars to 4.5 stars. I don't know of a perfect mini drone, but this is the BEST MINI DRONE to START OFF with because it's super easy to fly.The rubber feet may come off and there aren't any replacements so perhaps it's best to detach and reapply them with a very very light application of super glue (fyi: you do not want to put a heavy application of the glue and compromise the weight for super lightweight flying object as this could disrupt flying ability). I've never had the propellers come off but there are propeller replacements. Another thing, be very careful with the USB charging connecter and understand that you should gently plug in (do not ever push cable too strongly inward) and remove your USB cable carefully.Once you are comfortable flying this mini drone, I would say you can graduate to the TheeFun mini drone as this is more of an advanced beginner/low intermediate experienced drone flyer although if you are an expert then it can still be super fun to fly. The TheeFun mini drone doesn't have altitude hold so it can be a bit more challenging to fly should you be completely new to drone flying, but it can do more maneuvers with 3 speed settings whereas Syma has 2 speed settings, which is perfect for a novice. Remember, you should buy your Syma X20 mini drone from the company RC Drone to ensure the best customer service should you encounter problems.
