Project Incubator for Heating and Cooling Equipment

I bought it as a Christmas gift so I can make a video instruction video of it chick slip on and after about a month of researching models in this price range I settled on this model and so far I'm impressed. It's quiet and seems to run smoothly. Like other users, I kept the styrofoam box because it's winter in a drafty house and I need the best conditions for the eggs and the box helps keep the heat in. I also have a variety of farm chicks so for this project starting next week I will be breeding different chicks with different egg sizes. I just received it yesterday and it worked great on a 24 hour test run. It works in Celsius, so not only is it necessary to consult Alexa for temperature conversions, it's also very easy to work with. The instruction booklet is very helpful. But I'll admit I had to ask my husband to figure it out for me and we both really figured it out in a matter of minutes. It's actually VERY easy to set up once you get the hang of it. The booklet itself contains a lot of information and illustrations that will be very useful for novice incubator users. I've never used it myself, I have a few breeding hens, but having to ramp up production at Silkies & Cochins by spring it was the logical choice and I'm documenting every step, failure and all. I will keep you informed throughout the process and adjust the rating if necessary. UPDATE: I'm on day 3 with my eggs. I mixed some Silkies eggs with my Jersey Giants/Mille Fleur Belgian Bearded d'Uccle Bantam Yard Egg mix, my Jersey Giant and her friend Mille Fluer make great babies so I'll be diversifying this first batch. Some of the eggs I use are HUGE so take up a lot of space and I only need 9. a pain while figuring this out because it's a chore to actually see how much water is left and how fast it evaporates, and moving it to see it would be too much. My fault, I should have tested all of this during the test week, but I didn't. Lesson learned! Did I mention the candle looks GREAT? In another 3 days I will check my eggs for development and next time I will post some photos. UPDATE: Each of the 9 eggs I have in this batch are developing well. I will update next time, hopefully photo of 9 healthy chicks :)

Pros
  • ★ BUILT-IN EGG CANDLE - No need to buy an extra egg box to watch the eggs develop
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
