Review on Faber Castell 48-Color Premium Color Pencils by Tara Ford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Another great set from Faber-Castell.

I am an adult colorist who finds coloring to be a very enjoyable and relaxing hobby. As a rule, I avoid expensive professional media brands. Because of this, Rose Art and Crayola were my brands for non-aqueous pencils. Until I tried the Faber-Castell set of 12 metal pens and was very impressed. I came back to buy this box of 48 classic colored pencils. Like the Metallics, I found these to be the best colored pencils I have ever used. At the time, I compared them to eyebrow pencils because of their almost creamy texture. Where you don't have to put a lot of effort in applying colors to different types of paper. Wires don't stretch or break. The color of your work will also not rub off on your hands or other surfaces. In my experience, that also applies to this box of 48, which contains 2 metallic colors: gold and silver. The colors are richer and brighter than the Rose Art pens, which I found very vibrant when I first bought them a few years ago. Faber-Castell pencils are known for their semi-hexagonal bodies. In my experience, this works well. No broken leads that come with sharpeners similar to the one provided. These pens go just as well with my Royal Langnickel watercolor set. I particularly like how easy it is to use my Faber-Castell sets with permanent and bic markers or Super Doodle and Lolliz gel pens. Based on this experience, I highly recommend these pens to colorists of all ages.
