Review on 🌲 Woods Clamp Lamp with 10 Inch Reflector and Bulb Guard - 300W Bulb, 6ft Cord by Libby Walker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty durable, solid base and cord, adjustments. Not so easy.

I purchased this ceramic base incubator clamp specifically for my RubyLux infrared therapy light (bulb) which requires a ceramic base for high power lamps and a protective cover to protect against heat from the lamp. as well as the delicate nature of infrared lamps which can easily be broken and/or burned somewhat when inserted into a base that does not have this housing and a reflective housing. If you also want to buy something for your Rubylux infrared lamp, I definitely recommend that you buy this for safety reasons. I've heard of people using table lamps ignoring the need for a ceramic base and protective cover, and I really don't recommend being careless about safety when using this lamp. The lamps are large, very warm - hot and delicate. Although this brooding clamp can "look ugly" lying around your house for light therapy. It's important to protect your lightbulb (a $21 lightbulb, after all), and most importantly, you, your home, and your pets/children from injury and fire. , or lights up. The very first time I've attached this (with the bulb and device attached) to a kitchen chair. My cat jumped up, got scared, jumped down and managed to knock the entire lamp off the chair. It fell to the floor (still plugged in) and rolled across the carpet. Thankfully, thanks to this base, nothing burned, no one was hurt, and my lightbulb was protected from splinters. He did the job he had to do. Now for the cons: a fall from a chair onto soft carpet (say a 3 foot drop) shouldn't have left a HUGE dent (I'll say 1/4 of the outer ring was badly dented) and I have the outer ring basically hand sculpted back into a ring shape (but it's still messed up and uneven). As a former CNC machine operator, I understand that aluminum is the metal of choice. But a roll of carpet shouldn't do that much damage if that device *like* is hanging in a barn or over a hard floor and falls down. that the material is so soft that it completely or almost crushes the outer shell and permanently ruins the holder. This also assumes that the bulb inside will shatter and could result in injury or fire. So I think being able to withstand a light to moderate fall would be an improvement on this clamp light. Second, the clip itself is very easy to use. Just press and squeeze the black part against whatever you're clamping and it will stay in place without leaving a mark or ruining anything. The problem is that the clamps are only tightened according to the spring loaded area you are squeezing and you cannot tighten them any further. My cat's tail was enough to knock him off the back of a hard wooden chair. While you can turn the screw to tighten the corner at the top of the unit where the lightbulb is located, you cannot tighten the clamp. Also, it's covered in fabric, which makes it a bit slippery on hard surfaces. Third, this is the part you CAN tighten. After moving the head unit to a few different angles, it needs to be tightened again or the whole "head" will suddenly wobble out of position. Tightening is basically necessary every use when you adjust the angle of the lamp head by yourself more than once or twice. Therefore, you need to focus on paying attention to this thing in order to use it. I have not used any other brands or types of brood lamps for this particular purpose. But it seems that unless you plan on hanging it somewhere and just leave it alone, you'll have to make adjustments and tighten screws every time you use it. So that needs to be improved too. The price is okay. but if it is spoiled / badly dented with a tender roll. I feel like it's primarily intended to be hung and left as opposed to being a clip that can be adjusted and TRUSTed to stay in place. Still I give this 4 stars because it took a roll and protected the hot infrared lamp and saved my house, me and the bulb from damage so it did the job and otherwise easy to use and easy to clamp. adjustments? Not as much. The cable is very thick with good coverage and seems safe and suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, and the ceramic base is also very large, thick and durable. The basics of this lamp are great. The clip, the adjustability and the softness of the aluminum really needs some work. Overall I'm happy with this purchase considering it wasn't built to be used and set up around the home for light therapy. But I think the necessary improvements should be obvious for outdoor use as well.
