Put this on my 71 C20 with 2bbl 307. For those wanting to upgrade to HEI, just remove your old distributor, put the engine at TDC, align the distributor rotor so it pointing towards the cylinder. #1 for rotor spark as well as oil pump arm alignment. (The distributor must be pushed all the way against the intake manifold or you'll miss the oil pump lever.) Simply connect the distributor to the spark plugs in the correct firing order clockwise. This distributor only needs a hot wire without resistors. Use a voltmeter to make sure you are getting 12 volts with the key on. I assembled this distributor with new 8mm wires and NGK V-Power copper plugs. The engine runs like new. Unbelievable.
