High quality but too imperfect for $150

High quality but imperfect design. This carrier is by far the highest quality carrier I have ever owned. For the asking price, I don't think it's a good buy. I bought mine on sale so I'll keep it to myself, but I'll never pay more than $100 for it. I think Petsfit has the exact same stretcher for $100 instead of $150, just different fabric and mechanism to hold the flap open. Too small (height). I have a large 13 pound cat and he cannot sit up by himself but in a "tall" carrier without craning his head. The curved part that detaches from the holder just isn't high enough. It can only sit comfortably when lying down. 2. Bulky to carry. It's a medium of a very uncomfortable size, being square rather than rectangular. Because of this and the way the strap is positioned/attached to the carrier, when you carry it with a long shoulder strap, the entire carrier will tilt to one side. It almost fell over twice, which is not very safe and definitely stressful for your pet. No car seat attachment/seat belt grommet. Based on the way this carrier is described, I figured it had a through hole for a seat belt or some way to attach it to the car seat. They think for $150 they could make it safe for use in a car. I don't understand why people don't buckle their pets' car seats because that's why so many pets are injured in car accidents while sitting in the front or back seats. You would never strap on a baby seat, would you? 4. The tab holding the folded door is Velcro. So if you have a furry pet, it will immediately be covered with wool. Too bad they didn't use snaps like the Petsfit version of this stretcher.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine
