I was looking for a simple, inexpensive digital running watch. That's it. Some reviewers seem to have had problems programming the watch, I found the instructions included to be ok. The instructions state (in English and Chinese!) that while the watch is fairly water resistant, pressing any of the buttons while the watch is actually submerged in water will damage it. I won't do this, but you need to know about this. The case is a bit thick, but nothing compared to the awful size that men's watches have gotten (and often still are) in the past decade. TL; DR - the price is right, it's a basic digital watch, water resistant but clearly not waterproof, there is a backlight, I recommend if you need a basic watch
