Easy to assemble. We liked the fact that the paddle broke down and the handle was supposed to be adjustable and removable as it fit in our paddle board bag (once). When we went to break it down after the VERY FIRST use, we could not get the handle out. I could be due to tightening the handle latch actually bends the aluminum if it is set tight but I believe that it simply got dirt and grit between the inner aluminum tube and the outer one and jammed! Two grown men gripping and twisting the handle could not free it. So. it still works but the length is not adjustable and the handle cannot be removed so it no longer fits in the paddle board bag. Would recommend a different design if you need to adjust the length more than once or if you need to break it down completely. Didn't return from trip in time to return it so we are stuck with it.
