Received my 6TB Fantom DVR expander today. I connected it to my 1TB Arris DCX3635 cable/DVR box that I use with the WOW cable, followed the on-screen instructions to format it and waited for the formatting to complete (about 30 minutes). minutes). Before connecting the Fantom DVR Expander, I used 74% of the space on the 1TB DVR. After the new drive was formatted, it showed only 9% space. I used to only have 26% free disk space. Now I have 91%. Please note that the additional 6TB of storage will be added to your DVR storage. My previous 1TB DVR storage is now 7TB total storage. So for pre-recorded shows I'm using 9% of 7TB instead of 74% of 1TB. I highly recommend it as a dashcam expander. Update: June 2021: I have WOW cable TV. This DVR will not stay connected to my WOW cable box. I don't know if the Fantom DVR Expander or the WOW DVR Cable Box is causing the problem. Everything else works fine with WOW DVR except connection issues with the Fantom Drive. I'm very disappointed that I spent so much on it and now I can't use it. I have no choice but to change my original 5 star rating to 2 stars.
