Mine stopped working after about a month of use. No smoke or strange noises. One day I flipped the switch to turn it on and it wouldn't turn on. I've tried different outlets and all but I couldn't turn it on. I opened it up to troubleshoot and found a serious vulnerability: the ground wire is simply cut off and has no connection to anything inside the fan! The wire is simply cut off right at the end of the power cord inside the fan housing.
