DOA arrived, good packaging with no visible damage to the box or product. set to ON * resistance measured on the motor leads = high resistance > 1 MΩ, looks like the motor winding is defective or the solder joint in the shrink tubing has come loose * very cheap (build quality), but you get what you pay for. Mine stopped working after about a month of use. No smoke or strange noises. One day I flipped the switch to turn it on and it wouldn't turn on. I've tried different outlets and all but I couldn't turn it on. I opened it up to troubleshoot and found a serious vulnerability: the ground wire is simply cut off and has no connection to anything inside the fan! The wire is simply cut off right at the end of the power cord inside the fan housing.

My soldering iron found a problem with the wire right next to the plug. When the cable is connected, moving the cable turns the fan on and off. I contacted the seller and explained my problem. The seller responded quickly and offered to send a new device. They didn't ask me to deal with BS to send the old one back. I received a new block and it worked as expected.
