Review on πŸ–₯️ iMac 21.5 Inch A1311 Year 2009 2010 2011 Front Glass Bezel Replacement by Lecho by Moises Dzihic

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super easy to swap out. Apple wanted three times the cost to replace the glass. Slight distortion

I bought this glass after reading many reviews about it. I have a late 2009 27" iMac and the glass cracked and then cracked more and then a few cracks on the arms. Pooh! I was planning to have the glass repaired by an Apple Authorized Repair Shop. They charge $40 for the labor and ordered a replacement windshield. for $132 from Apple. I waited about 2 Β½ weeks. Replacing the Apple glass took forever. I finally told the store to cancel my order and refund me the prepayment for the glass. In the meantime I watched a few videos on YouTube. about how easy it was to replace the glass. No suction cups needed, I used tape to make handles to push the glass away from the frame. The glass is really only held in place by magnets at the top and sides and by a slotted loop at the bottom. You pull and tilt forward, and when the glass is off, gently lift it up and out of the bottom loop of the hinge. When I ordered new glass through Revain, it arrived in 2 days. ideal condition. Protective packaging I removed the foil from both sides and inserted a new glass. Fits like a glove. It has a very small overlap on the right where the glass isn't quite flush with the frame, but maybe 2 millimeters. I can live with it. Taking a star away from a product is not enough. It's crystal clear. I was so pleased that I ordered 16GB RAM chips (4) to also upgrade the RAM in the iMac. It's like having a new computer, only it's about 13 years old. I recommend this product. Avoid suction cups if you can. A utility knife blade also comes in handy to gently separate the old glass from the frame magnets, and then you can slowly use a pick, tape, or credit card to carefully separate the top and sides of the glass from the frame. before tilting and lifting the glass forward where it engages a series of grooves/hinge slots on the underside. Overall I did this repair myself very carefully and took the extra time to do it. If I knew how easy it is, I could have done it a lot quicker. I think the whole process takes 5 minutes at most. Preliminary preparation and subsequent cleaning takes much more time than the repair itself.
