Review on MC-400 Fuel-Tool Check Valve Repair Equipment by Stephen Burgstaller

Not good enough for valve tools

This product promises to make a quick and easy check valve repair on my Harley. What the advertising doesn't say is that it depends on cheap and inefficient paperclips that snap at the slightest pressure and bend before they break. Good luck not breaking them. The hook to remove the first o-ring broke the first time I tried to use it, didn't remove the o-ring, couldn't even grab it. The only thing I did at first was pull a few pieces off the twisted and broken tip of the paperclip. It took forever after creating my own hook to remove what was left of the first ring. Hook B to remove the second thicker o-ring along with the valve and spring took five long and tedious tries before pieces of that o-ring fell out, they don't tell you they also have a normal one week old, thin paper clip contained . using electrical wire shrink wrap as a tool to remove scraps, I think they may have known that this would rip the rings apart, what should have been for me 20 minute job turned into 3 1/2 hours and after I finally got the had new parts fitted, the valve flows as before. The mechanic is coming tomorrow to look at this and told me that these things tend to leave ring pieces in the valve that prevent the new rings from making a good seal. I do not recommend this product to anyone, I would probably be better off with dental tools. The price is ridiculous considering its performance, please don't waste your money on it, I only gave that one star because they asked me to pick one, it didn't even deserve it.
