Even with the ties in the back this shoe is too big and clunky for our little one which I think could make it easier for him to fall off. They don't sell half sizes which I would choose. So I went for the larger size. We stayed at a hotel with a water park for two nights and when our son woke up on the third day he couldn't support himself on his left leg.
