Oh my god I've looked at so many of these cheap webcams and the reviews are everywhere. The product comes to quality control. Then there are also many complaints about the firmware's pixel interpolation yielding results closer to 720p than 1080p. I bet most of them use the same chipset and lens, so cleanliness of assembly basically comes down to it. And here is the journey! Lots of highly rated cams with thousands of reviews if you look at the 5 star cams they are for anything but webcams! (Though 1-star ratings are definitely for cameras.) Very interesting for this database, man. See for yourself It looks like I didn't get a lemon as the sound and video quality is what I was hoping for and I'm quite happy with it. I've had several webcams in the past, all different brands, and what I like best is the low light response because I'm using it in a fairly dark room, but the picture is nice and bright. I'd rate this one alone recommend reason. It comes with a nice little tripod and a decently long cable. The price is right for this particular device and I see no reason to spend 2-3x more for cameras that have the same percentage of 1 star reviews with the exact same complaints as the 1 star reviews for this pup. Just give it a try and collect some good practice in the return window just in case. If you get a good one, you should be happy with it. Especially for the price.
