I am a hobby welder. I only started welding because I couldn't afford to buy strength and fitness equipment for my home gym (pre-Covid). So most of my builds are strong men and regular trainers. Took the Blue Demon cable because it's a bit cheaper than Lincoln or Hobart. Both wires are good, but I decided to try and lower the cost of the wire. Big mistake. Immediately the wire became different. My welds have gone from smooth and nice to rougher and more inconsistent. The amount of smoke from the wire was way more than what I get from others and the amount of spatter doubled (or tripled). Both make cleaning more difficult and the welds don't look good here either. It ended up putting my Harbor Freight emergency spool of wire back in the car just so I could finish the build with a few good welds and less mess. I will return the cable and not buy again.
