Review on Vegun Nutrition VEGANMASS Vegan Mass Gainer Protein Powder - Plant Based Organic Meal Replacement Superfood for Muscle Weight Gain Bulking - Gluten Soy Dairy Free - Chocolate Fudge Cake by Ann Coleman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Valuable vegetable protein source with additional vegetable carbohydrates. Subtle fragrance. Expensive.

One 37.5g scoop contains 140 calories, more than regular plant-based protein powder. I would put this down to 15 grams total carbs (2.5 grams total sugars). However, as they note, their Carb10 carbohydrate blend is low on the glycemic index with rapid absorption, "glycogen replenishment and performance enhancement." The goal is not only to gain weight (especially in the form of fat), but also to maintain and build muscle mass. It provides a decent amount/ratio of protein, 15g per 37.5g scoop, and it offers a complete amino acid profile. So it's not just a high-carb bulking powder. Rather, it contains carbohydrates along with proteins/amino acids and vitamins, minerals; Essentially, it's a healthier powder designed to maintain and improve overall performance. "Chocolate Fudge Cake" tastes decent. It doesn't have the rich flavor of fudge, but there are obvious chocolate notes. There are only 15 servings per pack. At $45, it's pricey for just 15 servings of a plant-based protein product. The product receives a positive nod for text stating that it is manufactured in a cGMP facility. This certification raises the rating accordingly. Based on these experiences and the perceived value/quality, this vegan powder gets 4 stars.
