Review on 24-Inch Minuteman International Fireplace Pot Hanger Bracket in Black - Crane by Krista Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well made, great design, but shies away from a few screws.

4 stars for 3 reasons: First, the manufacturer only supplies 2 anchor bolts and this part has 4 mounting holes. Second, anchors are not a common style you'll find at your local hardware store or major department store. They are expansion anchors with internal thread and anchors with metric hexagon head. Finally, there are no instructions or assembly template (i.e. what size masonry bit to use, etc. etc.). I had read other reviews prior to purchasing this item so I knew 2 anchor bolts would not be enough for me and the bolts could be of a lower quality pair. Anchor bolts no deeper than the base. This is a two-part deal: a knurled stainless steel anchor key and a grade 8.8 hex bolt, which is basically the equivalent of a grade 5 SAE bolt. I had to measure the wedge but it turned out to be a 5/16" OD. The hex head was 14mm and about 2" long (again I didn't measure). I guess the torque specs for them are included about 25 ft-lbs and I was very careful not to over-tighten them.Black cover the mounting plate screw holes to easily slide the anchor bolts through so before you do anything do that they used a 1/2" carbide masonry bit. I used a 3/8" Bosch BlueGranite Turbo carbide hammer drill bit and could have gotten away with a 5/16" bit since I "pre-expand" the anchor wedge a bit " had to be so it was tight enough to plug the hole slightly and prevent it from turning once I tightened the bolt will come loose at all Due to the style provided these anchor bolts can be removed so I ke me am worried about future distances. I really like that the faucet's boom can be easily removed. It's not deep enough for the hand to sit flush with the side panel without hitting the back panel, so I have to take it out when I'm not using it, unless I want to use it as a shoe/hat heater/dryer . I also like that I can hang additional items on the spots inside the triangle where the swivel is attached. The faucet is strong and will stand up to anything you put on it. So, I'd say if you're thinking of cooking on the stove, get this faucet.
