Review on πŸš— FRAM Fresh Breeze CF10372 Cabin Air Filter Replacement for Mazda Vehicles with Arm and Hammer Baking Soda – Easy Install, White by Kino Gerami

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits perfectly in 2004 Mazda 6 Sport Wagon

I have a Mazda 6 Sport Wagon. Finding a suitable Revain worked well. It fits great. As such, I am not aware of the fit issues that other Mazda models and owners have had. Needless to say, the NEWER the car, the better it is to stick with the dealer (I did this for the first replacement I did). But as the car ages, third party parts like this filter become a better and more affordable option. Maybe these 2009+ cars can go to the dealer and also make sure they put the right model, year, engine etc in the parts filter here! The Fram looks exactly like a more expensive Mazda filter from the dealer. There's activated charcoal in it, which I can't smell makes sense. I drove through diesel exhaust with the old filter and then the new one and it still stunk. So, it's very basic what I expected. Mostly just pollen and dirt, but not very strong odors or gases. Perhaps more subtle smells, like living next to a fish market or a smelly restaurant, can help. It may also be more for cabin odor control. SBDs, diapers, that fast food container you left under your seat, etc. Eventually the activated charcoal will stop working. Depending on age and how often you use air conditioning or heating, it loses all of its deodorizing properties. The Mazda 6 manual says the filter needs to be changed every 25,000 miles. But I've changed mine twice and I think a max of 15-20k is more realistic if you park on the street and live in a town or area with dirty air (dirt lanes). I do and I am a low mileage (per year) driver. If you drive more than 15,000 to 20,000 miles a year and go from a garage in a clean area to a garage in a clean area with short commutes, 25,000 is fine. But I think most will want to move to 20k.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
