We live in a city and have to travel long distances to go shopping. The country roads here are dangerous in winter, so we cook and freeze winter food. Store branded container sets contain more small containers than I need, lids fit for a while if any, few are stackable. I decided to buy 38 ounces. Containers are about the same price as a store pack. We love her. Each is designed for 4-6 servings of dessert or dinner for two. I've made meatloaf, stuffed peppers, and a chicken dinner, each with 2 large portions and mashed potatoes. I can add more but I don't like it when the food is crowded. I add canned fruits and veggies when serving. We took a few dishes to try and the food was well cared for. The containers are strong, stackable and don't leak, but I'm sure there will likely be too much liquid. Flat sides make marking easier. Like all containers made from this material, they are best cleaned with dish soap and very warm water. I'm preparing to buy another set and a smaller one for storing dried food. We reuse them, reuse them and recycle them and they suit our needs. I recommend these containers.
