I have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe. When I first installed it (without the heatsink), the Samsung Magician reported about 63 degrees Celsius when idle and that the temperature was too high. I bought a passive heatsink and the idle temp dropped to 54 degrees. Better, but Samsung Magician reports it's still too high. I decided to take a risk and buy another heatsink but this time with a fan. I've vacillated between designs that force the fan air through the classic "fins" or get something with a "tunnel". I settled on a "tunnel" design, assuming that the air would be forced the full length of the cooler. Also, this fan heatsink had generally positive reviews, which is why I got it. After getting the heatsink I did a quick performance test to see if the fan would spin and if it was quiet enough. I was happy to find out that the fan was spinning quietly and moving enough air that I could feel it pretty well. Perfect! I wasn't expecting that from such a small fan, so it exceeded my expectations. I installed a heatsink on my NVMe and plugged my computer back in. The Samsung Magician is now showing 43 degrees when idling and this temperature is now "normal". Yes! Here are a few notes: Pros: - Clip design (no need for rubber bands or zip ties to hold everything together) - Very quiet fan - Small screwdriver included. Healthy! - Includes hand wipes for cleaning dirty NVMe before installation (mine was relatively new so I didn't need to use them) Cons/Nitpicks: - You can get any color you want as long as it's red. what happened to it Spring. I still think it looks good. Very thin power cord. The cable connects to the power supply board so it can be disconnected. I found this useful as it made it easier to run the power cord and also plugged the adapter board into the power supply connector as it was very tight. - No instructions. OK. OK. This isn't rocket science. How wrong can you get it? The Quick Start Guide image in the online product information was very helpful and in any case it was pretty much all I needed. I just want to point out that I noticed that the blue stripe was covered with protective film on both sides, while the pink stripe was only on one side. Conclusion: It is quiet and works. I think this is a very good buy for $19. My NVMe would cook without it.
