Not me know what happened, but these sponges are not of the same quality as they used to be. I've been buying them for years after seeing them on the DIY channel show I Want This. They have always lasted a full month with no problems. Unfortunately, this year they smell horrible after a week. I've washed them in the dishwasher and reheated them in the microwave to "refresh" them, but nothing seems to help. This has never happened to me in the past few years since I've bought them. I was wondering why they weren't a prime item this year and had to buy them from a third party. now i know why It's a shame. I used to like this a lot.
