Sharp points but grippy wood

I bought this plug in version a few years ago and love it. Finally - sharp ends! I bought this battery operated one for our crayons. It also sharpens pencils well, but strangely sticks to wood. While sharpening, you need to hold the sharpener and pencil so it doesn't rotate. (Very difficult with short pencils.) They have a nice sharp point, but sometimes it bites into the wood so the point sticks out a little. This seems to happen more often with colored pencils than regular ones. (We use a variety of crayons, not just the ones shown here.) Colored pencils tend to have a lot of broken tips that get stuck in the sharpenerโ€”that's the nature of crayons. The leash inside breaks easily when dropped. One of the perks of this sharpener is that while it won't sharpen pencils if a piece gets stuck in them, they're pretty easy to fix. The clear portion and sharpener easily separate so you can access the broken tip. Overall this sharpener does the job and I'm happy with it, although I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't sharpen wood as smoothly as its electric counterpart. . (Although their quality may have changed as well.)

Pros
