Personally, I tend towards fast lenses and normally don't choose such a fast lens. I also try to stay away from wide-angle zoom lenses. Because . Spring . for obvious reasons. They just don't work as well as shorter range zooms and certainly have nothing to do with fixed lenses. BUT . I bought a GH2 and bought a camera for convenience. It was a camera to take with me when I traveled, where i would like to take a quality camera with me, and that's it. So it made sense to look for it in combination with a wide-range zoom. something I could take on a trip or just go out and shoot with a wide angle lens but still get some deep telephoto shots. and NOT weigh a ton and be bulky. Well it's the same lens. It's a master of convenience and I've found it produces amazing images. I found the lens to produce bright and sharp photos. OIS works well and I think that's one of the reasons a lens like this can produce such sharp images. Obviously this is not a super fast lens. A lot of that has to do with the wide-angle zoom (14-140), and part of it has to do with that it is relatively small and light. A lens that small with such a wide range just can't collect enough light to be a fast lens. So no, this is not a low light lens. Still, for such a long zoom in such a small and light lens. I am very impressed with his performance. I doubt you will find another lens that offers such great magnification in such a small and light size and delivers more. I read that the lens is optimized for video recording. I don't know if this reduces his photo opportunities. I don't understand why that is. But it's possible. I know the images you get with this lens looked amazing when I was shooting video with it. amazing, professional, When shot with the right lighting and focal length, a very cinematic look is possible. This is a daylight lens. You just have to accept that.
