Attention buyers! I learned the hard way that the hole in front of the steel crankcase ventilation tube was blocked by rubber at the bottom of the molded strain relief. This Dorman 696-712 Air Intake Hose came with no installation instructions or instructions for any necessary modifications such as testing or drilling a clogged hole. I assumed this part was ready to install. It wasn't until I had driven 60 km that my oil light came on. When I opened the hood there was oil and smoke everywhere. Overpressure in the crankcase pushed all the oil out of the engine through weak seals and gaskets. In my case, the oil was pushed through the distributor shaft seal into the cast aluminum distributor housing. I was lucky that this situation did not result in a fire or engine failure.
