I'm still waiting for them to suck! These are the most beautiful sponges I have ever used. We have a large family that is homeschooled, so we get a lot of dirty dishes and don't use the dishwasher. In the process, my teens left them sitting in dirty water and NO stench. They don't fall apart. The coconut side is a really effective scrubber. There is no plastic packaging. I have yet to compost them, so that part is unknown. Finally, I'm very picky about the "feel" of sponges on a wet hand, and they feel like soft fabric. I'm so glad I took the risk!
