A real money saver Good for theft deterrence

This is a very economical way to upgrade your worn key fob. This key fob is a case, a "key" blank, and a battery is electronics. To open the case, press the small button on the lower left side of the case and pull out the key. Open both cases, remove the circuit board from the old one and put it in the new one. Close the case and place the current key in the new case. That's all! In the attached photo, the old case is on top and the new one is on the bottom. I didn't have any issues with the key locking mechanism like the others. Both keys are suitable for each case without problems. As others have noted, this case does not have a logo on the back. So if you want to keep the logo, just use the back of your old key fob. The metal part of the case is attached to the front, so you still get new metal even if you reuse the old back. The new back cover does not have your FCC identification number, so you will need to write the number on your old case for future reference. My old key fob was quite torn and discolored, but the electronics were still fine. If I were to buy a replacement (refurbished) key fob it would cost around $100. A new one, especially from a dealer, is even more expensive. This is a simple PCB replacement (just pull it out) and requires no reprogramming. I definitely recommend this if you want a clean, brand new keychain. Pros: - Very inexpensive option to get a clean key fob - Easy to replace - Comes with a battery - Comes with a dead key. Cons: - I didn't find anything

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dodgy purchase for the elderly
