Today I tried it and I was worried. It doesn't seem to snap into the sides and was very light. I said "What the hell" and did it. The light on my washer and dryer was out for two weeks and I was trying not to pull out my heavy step stool. Had my phone handy in case I fell and it worked like a charm! Big enough for my feet and doesn't do anything. It helps to have something to lean on or grab as it lifts you up a bit. But you can jump straight into your project without tipping the stairs. I weigh over 200 pounds and this has worked great. It then folds up for easy storage and removal. There's even a pen.
