not very suitable for a shelf
Turns out they're great for something like a table leg, but not very good for a shelf. You must actively hold the "tongue" on it in order to be able to fold the leg/rack down. On a shelf, you must hold the tabs AT THE SAME TIME, making folding almost any shelf a two-person job. And that using only TWO of them. I was going to use three (it's a long shelf) but it's almost impossible to fold.
