Review on Cable Matters Unidirectional DisplayPort Adapter by Leslie Broussard

I give 4 stars because the price is good, I received the prime within 2 days and the seller was willing to accept my return request without question. I don't really know how well the cable works because I had to go the other way - HDMI out to a monitor with DisplayPort in. This cable is NOT suitable for this purpose. Looking at the instructions, it was clear that the cable was only intended to send video from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI input on a monitor. This probably works fine and I've decided to cancel my return request because I misunderstood the purpose of the product. However, I think it should be clearer in the description that the cable only works in one direction. Apparently, to go from an HDMI output to a display port, you need an active adapter that needs USB power to work. They are significantly more expensive than the cable, so I decided to purchase an $8 2-way HDMI switch (my monitor has 1 HDMI input and 1 DisplayPort input, but I have two HDMI -Sources to connect). The switch works great and is better than using separate monitor inputs anyway as I only press 1 button to change source instead of having to press 3 buttons on the back of the monitor to change source.
