Works perfectly. Exactly as described

Works exactly as described. I noticed a few reviews from people who either didn't read the whole description or didn't understand what they read. This cable only works in one direction. If you want to connect the output to Displayport and the input to HDMI, this should work for you without any problems. Just to clarify, I bought a new computer that for some reason doesn't have an HDMI output, only has a display port, but I prefer to connect my monitor through the HDMI port. This allowed me to…

DisplayPort only to HDMI, not vice versa!

I give 4 stars because the price is good, I received the prime within 2 days and the seller was willing to accept my return request without question. I don't really know how well the cable works because I had to go the other way - HDMI out to a monitor with DisplayPort in. This cable is NOT suitable for this purpose. Looking at the instructions, it was clear that the cable was only intended to send video from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI input on a monitor. This probably works fine and I've…

Will not work for computer monitors with some graphics cards

I have an Nvidia 2070 Super graphics card and I wanted to set up a dual monitor system. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately since they are said to be better) the card has 3 DisplayPort slots and 1 HDMI slot. I've used an HDMI slot the entire time I've owned a computer because DisplayPort cables aren't all that common and most monitors have HDMI connectors. My first thought was to get an HDMI splitter to connect more monitors to the HDMI slot. This method doesn't work and I'm sure some of you…

Works great with my ThinkPad T420 but read my final thoughts.

I always take my laptop with me when we take family vacations for two reasons. The second reason is that I can work on it a bit if I ever need it. I have several laptops at home including Lenovo ThinkPad, HP ProBook, Gateway and Asus models. All my laptops EXCEPT Lenovo ThinkPads have an HDMI port which allows me to easily connect to the hotel TV to redirect video and audio from my laptop to the TV. Lenovo ThinkPads, on the other hand, have what's called a "DisplayPort," which is similar to an…

Cons
  • something different

These days there are very few things that I actually go to the store and buy. I mostly order online. Simply because the price is usually better and it's just more convenient. Cables are one of those things that I usually go to the store and buy so I can physically see the cable that I'm ordering. There are so many manufacturers out there making different types of cables of different qualities and also repackaging and labeling them for specific retailers. You just never know the quality of the…
