So, after a very long wait (I pre-ordered on October 20, 2018), my brand new shiny I9 9900K is finally in my hands. I got a little frustrated when I started reading all over the internet that people who pre-ordered after me got their product before me. Last Friday the 16th I spoke to a Revain representative online and he said give him five days and they will "get me the product". I took his word for it, although I have to admit I thought he would only say what satisfied me. Then, the day after Thanksgiving, I find out that my processor will be delivered on Tuesday, November 27th, but let me tell you tonight, Sunday, November 25th, that I'm going to Revain to randomly pick up some Order household items but I find the message my processor will be delivered on Saturday 24th November. My heart starts pounding because of course I haven't slept all day and not once did I hear a van knock on the door or ring the bell. My heart is starting to race because there have been a lot of parcel thieves in our area lately, so I go upstairs at 11:30pm at night to see if there is a parcel on my doorstep. You see one, but it turns out that the Revain courier dropped the package behind one of the double doors. After seeing the package I breathed a sigh of relief, at least I can say to myself, thank God nobody took it. My next concern was opening the box and hoping my Intel packaging wasn't broken as as I've seen in some other Revain reviews they used a fairly large box and although they air packed it, you could still hear them rattling quite freely inside, bothering me. I carefully carried the box to my bedroom and began opening it with the precision of a surgeon making his first incision. I was confused as the first thing I saw was black, turns out the CPU box itself was in a very nice soft black pouch (I guess they don't save any money if you start these more expensive enthusiasts -CPUs to buy). To my delight, I am one of the lucky ones and my packaging was not damaged in any way. It also makes me very happy because for $570 (after taxes) I now have one of the coolest futuristic product bundles Intel has ever made and my inner nerd wants to proudly display it on a pedestal because I think it does one of the coolest things is. I've ever seen (I know I'm simple and easy to play lol). I will be upgrading from a Core I7 8700K with a Noctua NH D15 cooler and a recently purchased Z390 Taichi Ultimate combined with a 32GB Trident Z RGB 3200. Among other things, a Samsung 960 Pro NVMe GTX 1070 8 GB DDR4MHz graphics card. I use my system for two main purposes: gaming and handbrake video encoding and Adobe Premiere. With the I7 8700K overclocked to 5GHz on all cores, I average around 135 fps encoding video at a native resolution of 720x480. It will be very interesting to see what I can achieve with the I9 9900K . I know the jump from 8700K won't be that big, but my current system is only about two months old. With the exception of my motherboard which I recently upgraded from a Z370 to a Z390 about two weeks ago, my previous system for the past four years has been 4790K, so I'll be comparing my results between 8700K and 9900K, which is what matters most to me the power difference between 4790K and 9900K. For those who might be interested, I'll update this review when I have those numbers.
