Review on Power Stop Z23-1094: Enhance Braking Performance with Evolution Sport Brake Pads by Mike Meyers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Interesting brake material, the future of brake pads?

I bought my wife an Acura MDX and found that the rims never had any brake dust problems, so I looked at their material and found that Acura pads of used carbon fiber. that don't produce as much dust. So when I needed brakes for my son's frontier, I tried to find a company that used carbon fiber in their pads. I found Power Stop and the prices were pretty low so I bought a set of front pads. They've been up and running for two weeks now and work great. They have brake dust but it's lighter and not as noticeable, I really like them. This is a 2008 car and the brakes are quite soft. I ended up having to clean the guides and calipers and replace the fluid with synthetic so I know they work great, they're just soft. Please note this is our first Nissan and I don't know how the brakes are supposed to work but they work great so I assume the pads and brakes work perfectly. I'll be buying these for my other cars, if they need new pads I'll probably upgrade to the full power stop system of rotors and pads.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
